Post subject:  Traffic Stop as Told to Me
I guy who works with me pulled a permit holder over for speeding the other night. As he approached the speeder's car, he could clearly see a Glock in a holster on the passenger's seat. No one got excited, and a warning was issued.

Had it been me, I may have also added a warning for not having the gun properly loaded. I might even have said something like, "What're you going to do if you need to defend yourself? Throw it at the badguy?"

Anyone here want to admit to being stopped in northern MN Thursday evening?

That's why no one got excited, northern MN. In the metro area I do not think it would have gone down so calmly.

Wasn't me! I wasn't 'up nort' and won't even consider owning a Glock. :lol:

Just out of curiosity why wasn't "the gun properly loaded," and why having the gun on the front seat next to him mean he would only "throw it at the bad guy?"

Sounds to me like it wasn't chambered, in which case you might as well be carrying a brick.

Doh! I forgot the part where the magazine well was empty. I must've edited it out along the way somewhere.

The driver had a holstered Glock with NO MAGAZINE in it.

Really changes the story. Sorry about that!

Q: If someone tries a bum&grab on him, where is that Glock going to be?
A: On the floor or under the seat.

I can tell you from experience that handguns will slide off a seat onto the floorboards: (and it's definitely a good thing in the case I was involved in)

Yes. Yes they will. Even in a holster. :oops:

Only did that once. Then I bought a more comfortable holster.
