Off duty cops who don't carry puzzle me. Speaking from my corrections days, people who get locked up by you often tend to take a very pissy view of you when they run across you in the world. -Mark |

I haven't found a method to carry while jogging that works for me. Perhaps Sgt. Bebeau has a similar issue. |

I keep telling my bro-inlaw he needs to be carrying off the clock and to borrow one of my numerous holsters or belts if he needs to. And Fubar, the solution for jogging is a fanny pack or a shoulder rig. I use the shoulder rig with my G23 when I go for a run. |

For running anything that holds the gun snugly to the body can work. That it still might not be perfect, so what ? I'll add another option: consider ditching the sweat pants and run in lightweight cargo shorts with a belt and an IWB holster. |

Exercise in the lighter side of your clothing, but then you'll discover what doesn't work as well - "Hey, putting spare mags loose in the cargo pocket bangs around alot. Hey, if I put it inside a Uncle Mike's Pocket holster, it doesn't smash my leg..." |

Uncle Mikes in a pocket does let a .38 bang against the leg when you run; it needs to be close against your waist not to bounce. Trust me. This is when a deep cover like a Beretta .25 would be useful,. but they may not be approved for SPPD. Still, a .38 Ti in a fanny pack doesn't weight much. I'm all for recommending cops carry off duty, but I have a hard time criticizing one who acted so heroically. Lesson learned for the future, I guess. |
