I just got my new permit in the mail today from Hennepin Co. This was a renewal, as I got my first one five years ago in Isanti Co.I would have liked to renew in Isanti but I live in Mpls. now. Some contrasts that I noticed, Isanti carged $75.00 and I got the permit in less than 2 weeks.
Hennepin charged $100.00 and took the full 30 days,(or very close, I did not count to the day). The folks up north were a lot friendlier too.I'm a new poster here so go easy on me. :)

The MAXIMUM fee for a renewal is only $75.
Call them up and demand a refund!

Unless of course you applied after your permit expired but before the 30 of expiration. Then they can charge $85. Once you are past 30 days they treat it as a new permit. 8)

Anyway, welcome to the big city, and to the forum, fellow revolver guy.

Aitkin county charges the max $75 for a renewal and i seem to recall that Crow Wing charges $60 for renewal. Hennepin sounds like it is charging not a renewal fee but the fee for a first time permit.

I just got back from Hennepin sheriff (grain exchange building). The person (I *think* he was a sworn deputy, but I am not 100% sure of that)(he was wearing a shirt with an embroidered badge, but not an actual uniform, and I didn't see a firearm on him) was absolutely friendly and professional, and he asked me for only $75. My current permit expires on 12/9/2008.

But yeah, he was cool.
