My Kimber Custom II is my favorite "practical" gun.

My Uberti Outlaw (clone of the 1875 Remington revolver) with a 7.5" barrel is my favorite non-practical gun.

My Lovely Bride's Marlin 1894C in .357/.38 is so much fun I should be ashamed of myself.

My Kimber Stainless Custom II is my favorite range and IDPA CDP pistol.

My Para Warthog is my favorite carry pistol.

My 7.5" 44 magnum Ruger Redhawk is my favorite hunting pistol.

My .40 caliber CZ 75B SA is my favorite IDPA ESP pistol.

My IMI AT84S (swiss made CZ 75 clone) is my favorite IDPA SSP Pistol.

My CZ 97B is my favorite nightstand pistol.

My Taurus 85 Ultralite is my favorite ultra compact/deep conceal/backup pistol.

Many others are close contenders in several of the above categories.

Jeff, you will notice that the third on the right of my collection is a Para Warthog. I carried it daily until I had some problems with it in FTF and FTE. I then polished the feed ramp with a Drummel and installed Wolf sprigs in all the magazines. In addition, I sent it back to Para where they did some refining of the feed ramp. I have since run hundreds of rounds thought it, with only one failure, where it failed to completely lock into into battery. Now, understand that I had sent it to Para very dirty from running five hundred rounds through it to make sure that it would fail for them the way it did for me. I haven't had a chance to clean it up and try again. I'm hoping that it will be trustworthy for a daily carry. I do love it for a daily carry. Hey, a 45 cal, ten + one, small frame, light weight auto loader, how can you want anything more? Just hoping that it will be trustworthy. Currently I carry My Kimber Ultra Tactical or the 40 cal. Khar.

Now that is just plain dumb

Any machine that is not maintained no longer becomes reliable. I actually shoot a lot - more than most I shoot more in a year than most people shoot in a lifetime. Hence rebuilding and replacing perfectly good parts once a year.

I rebuild guns with new parts - often throwing perfectly good parts in the garbage. All springs are replaced annually - connectors - and that is about it.

You dont take care of something and it will fail you. A gun that I count my life on and the life of my family gets the 5 Star Certified Service.

JDR, I had my recoil spring assembly fail in my first 200 rounds through my Warthog. Para sent me a replacement speedily and I have put 850 rounds through it since then without a hiccup. My criteria for a defensive pistol is 500 consecutive faultless rounds.

I obviously agree with you on its virtues for carry as long as I can trust it.

My favorite is a Glock 23 with NY trigger.

I've had my eye on the H&K P2000 LEM, but I have so many holsters for the Glock already.

642 with CTCs is my favorite gun overall, because it's near.

Sig 226 9mm is my favorite gun to shoot, because it's easy to shoot, accurate, and easy to maintain.
