I wanted to inform any .357 Mag. shooters of a ammo problem I had.
I purchased some fiocchi ammon that stated
148 gr.
1500 fps.
720 ft./lbs. muzzle energy.

I have a Taurus 617 Titainium 2" , 7 shot , .357 revolver, 20 ozs.
When I shoot this ammo I noticed that I had to tap very hard on the ejector to remove the spent casings.
After some talk on another forum I was told to stop using it as the pressure was to high. So I bought some differnt ammo and sure enough they came out easy.
I wonder if this is a titainium problem. Does it expand more than steel?
Wonder if this ammo is to SAMMI specs?
I added the link below.

I was told that titainium does expand and contract and cause exactly this problem. I was only planning a 38 but he said it was still a problem so I bought the aluminum model.

It would be interesting to get another opinion because I see lots of titainium. The 7 shot model may be a little thin.

Is this the same Fiocchi ammo Bill's had for their shooter's show? I ran a couple boxes of that stuff through a few steel Smith and Wessons and had no trouble at all.

Is there a possibility that you have some fouling in the cylinder from shooting 38's out of it and not full speed 357's?

If this is the case and it likely may be - get after that fouling with something designed to remove it. RB17 works well - and stays put (it is a gel)

Ti revolvers should be fine....

Start with a baseline and clean that revolver really well - make sure that there is NO lubrication int eh chambers of the cylinder. See if you can recreate the problem....

Thanks for the info guys,
It may be a few days before I can get back to shooting .357's again as my hand and wrist are still sore from shooting a hundred rounds of this stuff a couple days ago.
I'm not used to such heavy recoil.
I only shot 38's one time and always clean the gun after every outing.
I puchased a thousand rounds of a different brand and found that they do not stick in the cylinder.
Only the Fiocchi does.
