Revolver. I don't prefer them, but I think they make more sense.  8%  8%  [ 6 ]

I have a permit, but I don't carry.  3%  3%  [ 2 ]
I switch off, from time to time.  22%  22%  [ 17 ]

Semiauto. I'd rather carry a revolver, but my employer or agency requires a semiauto.  0%  0%  [ 0 ]

I would like to see another option for somebody like me who prefers revolvers but whose department requires him to carry a semiautomatic.

What kind of revolver would you like to carry given the option?

A .500 Magnum if I couldn't find something larger.

What about those of us who carry both, at the same time?

Good question -- but it doesn't quite fit in the poll. Which is understandable, I think; few folks do, and at least many of those who do (like, say, me) don't do it at all regularly.

That said, there at least used to be a whole lot of old-timey cops who always carried a snubby in the pocket, even with something on the belt. I've been told that it's kind of useful -- as well as nonthreatening -- to walk up to a stopped car with one's hand in the pocket, without having to justify it later.
