Being somewhat limited on cash I'm looking more for used guns than new. Where are some good places to shop for used guns? Are there any gun shops that tend to carry more used guns than the sporting good stores? Also besides obious wear and tear what are some good tips when buying a used gun?

Well from personal experience Bill's has a number of used guns as does the Frontieersman and Gunstop.

I would check out those three and any gunshow that comes along for used guns.

Good Luck

In my experience, Frontiersman always has more used 22's than anyone else in town. If that's still what you are looking for.

Although, after reading the Gun Tests article on the Phoenix 22, it looks like you could get a hold of a new one with a lifetime warranty for what a used 22 would run you. You'll have to convince someone to order it for you. I have never seen one stocked in town.

The Frontiersman is in St. Louis Park at 394 & Louisiana. On the South side of 394 on the frontage road just East of Louisiana.

It's easy to find.

Just don't hit the building with your car.

I know I'm missing something here... I just don't know what.

I was so hot to get my SP101 that I let them talk me into a straight-up trade for my Kimber. I've always rationalized it as: keeping a local shop in business is a good cause, and they need money to fix their door.

There was an overnight burglary attempt a year ago this week; the perps drove a car through a side door.

They didn't get any guns, but they did get caught! :)

Robbinsdale, but checking all the stores that you can afford is a good thing.

I have had some good luck with Gander Mountain from time to time. Most of the gun shops are on the other side of the Twin Cities :(

There are several available on GunBroker.com. Going price for a new one is about $150, but there were some for a fair amount less.
