Good point. Heck most light fishing line is Nylon.
Can't wait to do some of that this summer.

I'm guessing this gun, with an MSRP of $330, will be about $275 retail. Hard to say no at that price, and Ruger should be encouraged for doing the right thing.

Released in mid-March doesn't mean you'll see them in mid-March. Firearms companies know how to drum up demand by taking pre-orders, then shipping small batches and allocations, before finally releasing them in bulk.

The LCP is already showing up with some of the larger dealers. Gunbroker has listings claiming in stock and ready to ship. Prices are a bit inflated for those who don't care and want it now.

Sounds interesting. Never heard of a frame being constructed of glass filled nylon. I am guessing this is a gun you won't want to shoot the heck out of. Take it out of the box makes sure it goes bang a couple of times and then hope it works when you need it.
My next Ruger purchase is going to be that ugly duckling Charger.
Looks like nothing but fun :D

I got a chance to fire one of these last week. It was a joy to shoot, and accurate.

I never really was a fan of the 10/22 action on a rifle, but in this form it does really well.

I got the word last week that my Charger shipped. I should have it Tuesday of this coming week. I'm going to clean it, then shoot it stock, then clean it again, and then tear her down to put in all the custom parts I already bought, then shoot it lots more.

Sorry about the post drift. I know I didn't start it, but I'm keeping it alive.

Put mine on layaway last week. The range here won't be accessible for another month or more. Put a Tasco target/varmint 2.5X10 42mm scope on it. Picked up a Ram Line banana clip for it a gun show today for $10.00
Let the fun begin :D
By the way the more I read about that LCP it is becoming tempting. Buffalo Bore has some pretty hot .380 loads for it.

I guess with all the thread drift I should clarify,it is the LCP for $284.00.
They also had a charger behind the counter but they hadn't put the bi-pod on it so I didn't bother them to look at that. I may stop out in the middle of the week when they aren't quite so busy. A lot of tire kickers there on a Saturday.

The LCP might become my "Formalwear Carry" piece if I decide to get it on my B-Day in June. It seems like it would make a more-than-adequate upgrade from the Beretta Tomcat that has gone with me to so many places...

My question would be, how close is the fit on holsters and whatnot? Would I be able to use my current Beretta accessories (aside from mags) or would those need upgrading, too?

I believe you can use holsters for the Kel-Tec but I'm not certain anything for Beretta's will be interchangeable for this gun.

The LCP and the Kel Tec are nearly identical in size so I any holsters for the Kel Tec should work for the Ruger. I have also heard the mags are interchangeable.
Here's a comparison
Kel-Tec P3AT Ruger LCP
Weight 7.2 Oz 9.42 Oz
Frame Width 0.798" 0.790"
Barrel Length 2.745" 2.796"
Slide Width 0.748" 0.741"
Overall Length 5.14" 5.172"
Overall Height 3.576" 3.612"
Cartridge Capacity 6+1 6+1

The LCP and P3AT look almost part for part compatible. Look at the trigger drawbar, the hammer/sear, the mounting hole placement for the frame to grip interface, the barrel, recoil assembly and the springs. The only difference I can see is in the extractor and firing pin retention area, the slide stop, and some exterior contouring.
