Well, here's what I do: type <b>img src="http://www.smith-wesson.com/wcsstore/SmWesson/upload/images/firearms/170210_large.jpg"</b>
in between angle quotes (< >)

The main trick is getting the Web address (aka 'URL') of the image. The URL (Uniform Resource Locater as we all know) is everything between the quotation marks in my example above. The picture has to be someplace accessible on the Web. For example, on the Smith & Wesson site there's a picture of the revolver somebody should buy me for my birthday (May 9th). If I right-click on the image I get a menu that lets me select "Copy Image Location". Clicking that puts the URL into clipboard memory.

Then I can paste the URL into my message — see?:
<img src="http://www.smith-wesson.com/wcsstore/SmWesson/upload/images/firearms/170210_large.jpg">
(only $1,178!)

The real answer of 'how do I do anything' on the Web is: find an example where somebody did it, then find the "Show Page Source" command in the menus of your Web browser. It'll show you all the gobbledygook that displays the page you were looking at, and you can dig through it to find the line you want.

I should probably note that some places don't like you to link directly to images in their site. In that case you can copy the image (assuming they're OK with that) and upload it to a Web server you have access to... but that's enough off topic verbiage for now I think.

I use photobucket at a recommendation from someone on this forum.

I was looking at the URLs of some of the pics here just now, so now I know about <a href="http://tinypic.com/about/" target="blank">TinyPic.com (which is part of Photobucket).</a> Cool!

That's the hard way -- raw HTML. The easy way is to use bbCode like this:

[img]http://www.babyrothman.com/bigimages/thumb/pc318245-t.jpg[/img]

That gets you this:

And by the way, in the "compose" window, there are URL and IMG and all sorts of helper buttons. Over on the left, it says "BBCode is on". Clicking on that link shows you a help screen on how to use all those neat features.

Like we computer geeks say: Read The Fine Manual!

(voice of Gomer Pyle:) Well ahhhhhhh'll BE!

Thanks, this is the first Web-based forum I've participated in much. Let's try that img button... Oh cool.

And look—we're almost back on topic! This is the ClipDraw. It's really handy and it makes me only a little nervous.

I wonder if that clip draw will work on my Witness or my Taurus?? I'm going to have to research that. Pat, why does it make you "only a little nervous"??

I can't bring myself to carry a 1911 with the hammer down (like they apparently recommend in the photo), so when I'm sticking the pistol in my pants, or adjusting it, I keep my thumb jammed firmly under the thumb safety. It's easy for me to imagine shooting a furrow in my flank and maybe getting a ricochet up the butt or some horrible thing like that.

No it will not work... But try the #SA one and that should work very well.

Some advice on pictures and avatars........ please be careful of WHERE you download these things from. Another board was compromised because someone posted their avatar and apparently obtained it from a shady website. It had a virus in it and took down the board. Pictures have that same capability. Just a recommendation from past experience.

Actually what we say is "RTFM". When asked, we explain it stands for "Read the Manual". Any further questions just get a dumb look.
