I imagine that there are at least a few anglers here. This is good news:

Quote:
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota anglers could have one line rigged with bait and a bobber while casting with a spinner on a second line under a bill in the House.

Rep. Al Juhnke, a Willmar Democrat, says the bill allowing anglers to always fish with two lines fits better with what other states allow.

Currently, anglers in Minnesota can use two lines only in border waters or while ice fishing.

Juhnke says his bill could also bring in potential revenue if the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources were to make anglers buy an extra stamp to fish with two lines.

For example, if the stamp cost $10, Juhnke says the state would bring in an additional $1 million a year.

The bill has passed the House in other sessions, but has struggled in the Senate, where some senators have brought up concerns about conservation and the health of the state's fishery.

It's about time. Maybe they could consider letting us use treble hooks on our tip-ups as well!

No kidding, Heck, I want down riggers on my boat this summer. Let's up it to 8 lines.

Perhaps rational thought:

No he's really just fishing for more dough:

Now the brain trust of this state just passed an amendment to raise money for this kind of stuff. Maybe some are figuring out the the "Legacy" part is going to take a far bigger chunck than what they first thought.

I know... how about a limit on the number of fish you can keep. This will make it easy for the DNR enforcement officals to just check the number of fish on your stringer and see if you are in compliance or not. How you catch them is between you and God.

I'm not a fishin' kind of guy. Why not allow people to purchase the rights to use multiple lines? $10 a line up to 10 lines or something? Better than a fee on something else.

Wow. Simple, easy to enforce, and with a minimum of micromanagement.

Nope, doesn't stand a chance.
