Anybody else drive a low-riding sports car? I barely got out of my garage before getting stuck (my own fault for not shoveling first). Had to shovel the car out, then push from behind while my wife drove it back into the garage. There was no way I was going to make it out of my alley!
Oh well, I had some stuff around the house to take care of today anyway.

I just watched a motorcycle drive by the office. With two people on it. Thought I was seeing things.

Yes, there are some advantages of working out of a home office.

I have no excuses. I walk to work. Today it took a couple minutes longer than usual because of the effort of plowing through the heavy snow. It's extremely quiet here, as both staff and visitors are having trouble getting in today.

I pulled my 4x4 out of the garage and decided to put my wife's Echo in. For awhile I didn't think I was going to get the Echo back up the driveway. I guess that means I leave work early today, so that I can drive her to work.
As far as the motorcycle is concerned, on the way in I was thinking that the knobbies on my bike would be the best set of "Snow" tires I own.
Now if I could just use studded tires on it.....

I got my Mercury Sable out of the driveway, and got to work ok. Not looking forward to my commute home, though.
Glad I got those new tires on the car- made all the difference in the world.

This is what I use to run out to our farm. It makes the ride a little more fun.

I just finished shoveling my driveway for the SECOND time today, and I kid you not, we have had at least 4" of snow in the past 4 hours (between 7:30 and 11:30 AM, in North Minneapolis). Total depth on my front sidewalk was between 12" and 15". I finished about 5 minutes before the mailman arrived.
Call me crazy, but I think this is kind of fun -- of course, I'm taking the day off, so that helps!

Went to bed after work @ 2:00 AM, thought it was all done. Hah..fat chance. Cleaned off all 3 trucks (plow, van, tow) ran some errands and now relaxing until the evening. Then I get to go out and play in all this white stuff.

But isn't this a good thing for you?
I thought all this snow would help you pay some bills, or buy a new toy.

I was driving up to a friend's house years ago, saw snow flying high out of their driveway, and thought, "wow, they've got a hell of a snowblower".
When I got there I saw his brother spinning doughnuts in the driveway with his dirt bike.

Well, this is definitely the right forum catergory for that:

I still have about a 1,000 studs to screw in your knobby tire from when I used to race dirt bikes. Fantastic traction. On good ice, it is better than asphalt. 2 t0 3 on each knob of the front tire. 3 to 5 on each rear knob. (Don't spin the tire if you must run over someone.)
I now keep tire chains on my 4-wheeler. Haven't been stopped yet in the winter.

A guy I once knew use to race snowmobiles with his dirtbike on the Mississippi up north of St. Cloud, I guess he beat a lot of them, but I think snowmobiles are a lot faster now days.

I have thought a bit about picking up a URAL with sidecar, maybe even 2WD http://www.imz-ural.com/ as a next bike rather than another sportybike. .. just for days like today.
I actually dug out and took the Turbo Bettle up to get its window fixed (recall as I come to find out, so I was driving this morning with my passenger-side window all the way down to get the free fix from the dealer) Then drove to work at 2:00p without incident.
No getting snowwed in for the wicked I guess.
