Yahoo News has an interesting story today about an "anti rape" device for women being made in South Africa. Looks like a female condom with rows of fish hooks embedded into the inside of it - OUCH.

There is a much older and more effective "anti-rape" device, known as a "gun". The advantage of the older device is that it allows you to manage multiple attackers from a distance, whereas the new device only affects one attacker during penetration when he probably already has his hands around your neck. Perhaps we should call it the "too little, too late" approach

Both devices have detractors who say such devices will only escalate the situation. I wonder though ... if somebody is trying to KILL you, how is it possible to "escalate" the situation?

Enjoy ...

From the article:
Quote:
"Nothing has ever been done to help a woman so that she does not get raped and I thought it was high time,"

She must not be familiar with the variety of anti rape devices designed by John Browning quite some time ago.
One has to wonder where this woman has been hiding.

I'm pretty sure after his 'weapon' is damaged he will most likely kill her since the injury is going to piss him off. Better off putting a slug or two in him at a distance.

I think here in the states that thing could get you sued for entrapment. Remember, criminals have more rights than you do.

We all know the only correct way to deal with a rapist is to blow that security whistle you wear around your neck, and yell NO really loudly.
If that doesn't work, submit to the attacker, because it's not PC to actually fight off violent attackers.

I can't believe that a segment of the population believes that.

I kind of worry about some girl/woman using the “Anti-Rape Device” on some poor guy as a joke. :(

...or simply forgetting she has it in. Protection, to be effective, has to be employed every day.

Youch!
