I love the SEALS! Too bad they were not hard core enough to be Marines!

Even better. Three shots, three kills.

Puts a premium on being the negotiator, doesn't it?

Now if we could just see the fourth "pirate" swinging from a real yardarm my day would be complete!

I believe the fact that they left one alive will prove to be a costly mistake.

The one that was left alive was the negociator and at the time of the "firefight" he was aboard the Navy ship negociating, which would have made shooting him a bit difficult to explain. :D

But he could have tripped and "fell" overboard.

I would have loved to see the "negotiators" face when they told him his services were no longer necessary.

I've heard that water can cause some nasty ricochets.

This was the best news I've read in quite a while. Finally we stood up to the bad guys and kicked a little ass. Sadly, I bet it won't be long before weasels here and abroad start railing on the way this went down. But if this action makes just one scumbag think twice about their pirating, hostage-taking ideas it will be worth it.

Problem is, this BS should've NEVER passed the 12-24 hour mark!

Let the Military do their job if they're sent to deal with it!

Having them 'stand off' until the last possible moment is BS!

Last I knew, pirates are NOT any type of Gov't or country that we trade with or do business with.

The "negotiating" pirate was being treated for knife wounds sustained during the failed takeover. The sweet irony; while he's receiving humanitarian aid and negotiating on behalf of his comrades, we're unequivocally eliminating them and "pirating" his bartering chip. :D

It's pretty horrible. I'm glad that the captain is safe -- sounds like a nice enough guy, and, even if he wasn't, so what? -- but what about this whole affair makes it clear to pirates that a ship flying a US flag means Don't touch rather than Make better use of human body armor?

Did anyone else find anything odd with this computer rendition of the lifeboat and its passengers?

There is much we do not know and much that we will never know about this incident. Let us just thank the Navy Seals for a job well done and not dwell on how they accomplished it. In this case, the ends justify any means whatsoever.
