Post subject:  The Price is Right

Ok, so I catch some of The Price is Right... I start noticing a weird trend in the guess-the-price-to-play-the-game part. Come on down!

Everyone know how to play? Guess a dollar amount that is closest to the item without going over the actual price.

One strategy that people use, is to guess $1 over someone else. Typically(?) when another player beats you to guessing a dollar amount.
Someone guesses $650, you guess $651. You take that player out of the running.

Well, at least 3 times in 2 shows, I see when one player guessed $650 another player guessed $649. $649?

You automatically lose when you do this. I suppose it could be a strategy to just stay on the show without playing... ? I googled to see if this was a 'thing' that people are doing to be funny. But, I didn't find anything. My wife says that this happens all the time... Do that many people accidentally guess the wrong way?

Anyone else see this?

I would suggest that, apart from the diversonary value of this question, you should find more important things to worry (or think) about.

You only automatically lose if the price isn't $649.

I suppose I could talk about my grass. I've planted plenty of seeds and I'm just watching it grow... Since I don't have any paint drying.

No, I really do not have anything better to talk about.

Post subject:  Below average

Just remember, half the people in the world are below average. And while I haven't watched that show since college, I remember thinking that most of those below average people seemed to make their way to contestant's row...

Apparently I don't have anything better to do either, and I'm at the office!

Remember, the show gets to pick the contestants. I'm sure showmanship and not breaking the bank get weighted when they decide who gets to contestants' row :-)
