Happy Memorial Day - whether you were a grunt in the field or in the rear with the gear - you wore the uniform and I salute you and thank you for your service.
I hope all who read this take a moment to tip a beverage of choice to the men and women of our armed services who sacrificed so much so that we may live in freedom today -
Semper Fi to all -

To some, they think that military service was a task. For those that served, we were rewarded in many ways that could not be explained.
A big thanks to those today and those in the past that served to keep our country free.

Ditto from one vet to another. Those who served in any capacity are still the reason we are the land of the free and the home of the brave.

my favorite sad war poem:
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
I grieve for those who did not come home.

It is through their service that we can sit here free today.
Prayers for safety and thanks do not begin to honor our great troops.
But...the best I can do is say....Thank You.
