It is not as if the Somali community in Minnesota as a whole has made any great leaps toward assimilation. They have become very adept at playing "victim" and exploiting the system at every opportunity. I would imagine that is a product of living a hardscrabble existence for generation upon generation. Somalia has been the backwater "Ozarks" of Africa for about 9,000 years. The British and the Italians could not subdue them, nor could they bring any semblance of modern civilization to Somalia.
I believe that everyone should send a card off "Thanks" to the Catholic Aid Society and Lutheran Social Services for bringing this plague into our houses.
