I, too, am not a "boomerang" kid. 22 now, moved out at 20 and have no desire to move in with my parents ever again. I don't care how poor I become, I'm on my own and will continue to be. I have a good relationship with my parents and talk to them fairly often, but will not ask them for help, albeit their offers. Some kids make me wonder about where society is headed...

Gonna kinda miss his jamming on his guitar. That plan worked for me at 18; best thing that ever happened to me! Saw the world from an underwater sewer pipe and never moved back home!

Huh, I'm 30. Younger sisters are 27 and 24. All of us moved out at 18, returned home in the summers during our first couple years of college. But by the junior year of college all of us had moved out permanently.
Maybe we're an isolated case.

I went to Community College for two years and lived at home -- transferred to Indiana University for Junior year, moved out and never went back.
Staying there for a long period of time wasn't an option - my parents had made it clear that post-college was time to be an adult. b

Maybe we're an isolated case. Nope. I did the same thing. Saved my mother and I from yelling at each other constantly, too. We get along much better these days with twice a year visits. -Mark

Just curious, but considering the events in the other thread regarding your daughter, are you still asking her to GTFO???
Might not even be my place to ask so ignore at your discretion.

Might not even be my place to ask so ignore at your discretion. No problem. She needs to get a job first. Then we'll go from there. IF she stays any longer than Aug. 1st, she WILL be paying some rent and part of the utilities. The 'free ride' ended when she moved out at age 18 (after graduation).

Thanks for indulging my curiosity.
