I took the Extra Class test last Thursday at the Lakeville Gander Mountain and today the upgrade just hit the FCC's ULS database! Yippee!

Congrats!! I did not know there were VE sessions at Gander........I used to be a VE in Apple Valley but have not attended a session for about 5 years or so. Maybe it's time to get involved with it again..........

I used Gordon's book on Extra Class. A fantastic and informative source to learn the ropes.

The VEs that used to meet at the Hayes Community Center are the ones who do the sessions at Gander now. Last week was the first time they had the session at Gander Mountain, in the lodge.

Now that I've reached the top of the heap, so to speak, I was playing around with the idea of getting a GROL (General Radio Operators License). Roughly the same theory; some of the questions are actually identical-but the question pool is set to change this December.

What are you going to do with your book?

I'm a lowly Tech, hoping to find time one of these days to upgrade to General.

Way to go, Binky!

I got my Extra ticket a number of years ago. I don't deserve it, but I have. I basically memorized the test by taking practice tests endlessly. I was able to pass the 5 wpm code test when I got my general.

Congrats, in any case!
