Police say the two young children found bound by their hands and feet in a St. Cloud house have been place in protective custody.

The mother of the 2-year-old children has been charged with two counts of malicious punishment of a child.

St. Cloud police Sgt. Martin Sayre said today the children were turned over to Stearns County social services.

Police say officers went to the home Monday while investigating a report of child neglect and found the children in separate bedrooms.

Bail for Maimuna Mohamed Mohamud has been set at $5,000.

Geez Dean, I didn't comment. I observed. Yes, child and other abuse knows no social, religious, or social boundaries whatsoever. I suspect there might be frequency differences among those groups, but I sure haven't studied that and have absolutely no idea how it would distribute. This is just a guess, but possibly those groups that might be more conservative than others might register more abuse complaints.
