Lakewood Police Officer Dustin Carrell stopped traffic on westbound SR-512 Monday morning near I-5 to help a mother duck and her ducklings safely cross the road.

and this is why ducks can not get a carry permit. Apparently the officers have a responsibility to protect them, but not us. Ergo, I carry.

I think that's going into my response list for the "Why do you carry a gun?" question...

"Why do you think you need to carry a gun?"

"Because I'm not a duck."

And then I can take a much greater interest in the mental health related gun laws.

Very odd. I saw a full grown male mallard dead on the road today. First time in my life I've seen a roadkill adult duck, Lakeville PD must be protecting mammals instead.

I am not a duck, nor have I ever been a duck. I do not even have ducky tendencies.

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... you better pay attention!

Srigs, how are you at working in miniature? You may have a marketing opportunity here for some UW holsters!
