Does either state (MN or WI) have any problems with a person using an evil black rifle to hunt deer? I don't think they do, but I'd like to know for sure. I know both allow .223 for deer, but I won't be using that...

I'd also like to know what the max mag capacity is for each state. Is there a maximum number of mags a hunter can have on his person while hunting?

Thanks!

Son 2 uses a DPMS AP-4 (AR-style in .308) for deer. To my knowledge, Minnesota doesn't have a limit on magazine capacity for hunting rifles.

If you want to know "for sure", you'll need to read the hunting regulations

I am not aware of any restrictions in the MN regs that limit what a hunting rifle should look like. If you come across fudds in the field, you'll likely get some odd looks.

When I considered using my M1 Garand to hunt deer with one year, I looked for a limit on the number of rounds a rifle could carry and I found none. That said, I've never needed more than one.

Good luck!

if your using a .223 be sure to use a non varmit bullet if you're going after big game such as deer.

In WI you're good to go. I've used my AR-10 carbine in .308 serveral times deer hunting. Biggest drawback is the weight. It's heavy compared to my .30-30.

Like I said, it won't be a .223 - probably a 6.5 Grendel. And it'll be in an AR15 platform, so weight will be less of an issue.

Thanks for the input.
