I started out looking at the Taurus PT1911 but found a few negative reviews so I decided to stick with a known gun. Its a Springfield black stainless loaded, target model. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a270/ ... 010045.jpg

It's a damn fine pistol - never a FTF, FTRB, or any other issue... I think you'll love yours b

I think you made a very solid choice, but then again, some think that I am bias.

I have the identical gun, and I do love it. Was it NIB or used May I ask what it cost

It came with two nylon holsters, a double magazine holder, two Chuck McCormack ten round magazines and a Wilson full length guide rod, plus the original two magazines. I got it for $680.00, which I thought would have been a great price for the gun alone.

I just want to know what negatives you found on the PT1911 (I just picked one up, so I'm curious). I know about the safety "issue" (falling out), which seems to be a non-starter as long as you use correctly built grips.

-Mark The safety thing was one of the issues, not being able change sights except for Taurus sights was another. I'm sure Taurus is building some fine guns, it just came down to the fact that I have three other Springfields and just decided I would stay with them.
