TV-PG (L)
(60 minutes)

An action-packed day in the life of the Mall of America, as seen through the eyes of the men and women assigned to guard its stores and shoppers: the mall cops. From protecting celebs to busting shoplifters, there's no job too big for the mall cops.

Hey! I wonder if the crack counter-terrorism unit will be featured! Image

You guys have no idea what you are missing. Have you not witnessed our crack team of Mall Cops? Have you not seen them rushing about, going from ordering lunch at Subway one moment to stoping shoplifters at Sears the next? These are top notch crime fighters. I, for one, have my DVR set and can't wait to settle in with a big bucket of popcorn to watch these fine protectors of us all.

I was there when they were filming the special. It was about 2 months ago. They had one cop wandering around talking to the host with about 12 support people holding cameras/lights/reflectors.. I thought it was hilarious. I'll have to see if I spot myself during the show :)

I just caught the first segment of this joke.

They all look like they are high school kids waiting for graduation.

They have a gal who says we are not security guards we're real cops, then they show there patch on the shoulder and clear as can be it says MOA security. They go on to say the guards can only issue trespass citations and they have to get a real Bloomington police office to cite anything else.

These folks don't carry a pistol so basically if they got into some heavy stuff they could call someone to help, try to be a good witness, or run like the it appears they have the training for. I can't believe these poor guards don't see how embarrassing this makes them look, maybe that’s the point, we should feel sorry for the mall security ninjas(like watching the talent show flops).

TV has sunk to a new low; I think I'll go watch MASH or Frasier reruns.

Lemme guess, you'll be the guy in the back doing jumping jacks holding your AR-15?

See, now THAT would have been funny...

If I would've known that was happening before I got there, I would've worn my pink pistols shirt, or maybe one of my "celebrate diversity" gun shirts :)

They had signs on the doors announcing the taping, so didn't want to run home and change.

Just got done watching it. My favorite part was the lost baby sock. Not a lost baby, a lost sock, or rather a found sock, so yeah in a sense the baby is missing. I loved the closeups of various babies' feet as the mall cop looked for the owner of the sock. I hope they do a followup show so we can find out if they ever found the owner of the sock.

I hate to admit it since it's kind of pathetic, but I actually watched it too (hey, I was home all day with a wicked sinus infection, so it wasn't like I had anything worthwhile to do...)

talk about wasting an hour of my life! I wished they had done more footage from the guy with the whip - would have been interesting to hear what they told him (and how he reacted - pretty much all he said was "it's a prop!") and who the heck got worried about him having it? guy in costume leading a group of kids - wouldn't set off any alarms in my book - what part of that is cause for concern? and they call US paranoid!

I thought it was a pretty sad message they were sending that the lady with the two girls that were whining and crying were given wristbands for whoever the "star" was... let's reward bitching and whining and show it on TV!!! Weren't there any people that exhibeted adult behavior about it to at least show a counterpoint?
