I deer hunted with my Ruger Redhawk in 454 Casull. Loads can be chosen which in my opinion shoot with less recoil in a gun this hefty than many 357 mag weapons do. Plus it comes with a nice set of scope rings!!
And you can practice with light cowboy 45 Colt offerings.
