I tried putting this up outside.

The little f*ckers keep showing up at 5am. For those who don't get it, this is what they sound like. Working from home, I try to sleep in until 6:30 or so.

That was well done.

Perhaps I didn't use a big enough font.

What are the birds that sound like Nelson from the Simpsons (annoying two-tone call, high to low)?
If it wouldn't result in more than a few legal problems, I'd be tempted to see what a 9mm would do to one of those at 5:30am.

I think when I get up in the middle of the night I'm going to start putting the cat out. If the birds don't announce their presence, they shouldn't have a problem, right?

It's clear that the robins are ignoring your sign due to the fact that the font is not the correct height and they were not posted according to state law with a sign bottom height of 8 feet and you didn't post one in each tree in the yard. Not to mention the lack of a contrasting background color.

Declare yourself a church then you don't have to even post......the robins will know through some type of divine communication. Problem solved.
then again a cat would also work

Wait until you get one that finds their reflection in your window. Robins and Cardinals are VERY territorial when in mating season.
I had one that would bomb my window from sunrise to 5pm non-stop for two weeks. After two weeks it stopped.

Maybe try training a coopers hawk to sit on you roof for free victuals in the morning? Kestrels are too small for robins, I think.
I'm vehemently apposed to the cat, though. Just my humble opinion and all that...

A little blurb someone sent to me once...
Quote: I have this little bird that comes to visit every morning between 4:50 AND 5:10AM every day. He dosen't sing though. He has this chirp thats really more like a click. Loud as hell for as small as he is. He goes chirp chirp chirp over and over for an hour or so like a dripping water faucet. He's only about 4 inches tall but he just echos outside my bedroom window. Now I'm a peace loving hippie dude who loves animals and children and all the wonderfully pure things in this world, but I want to take that little guy and put him in a sock and BEAT HIM AGAINST THE WALL TILL HE'S FREAKIN' DEAD.
having been there before, I can relate.

Apparently, I'm not alone. It's really only an issue if I'm more well rested. I should start staying up until 2am again so I'm constantly exhausted and able to sleep through the noise.

As I awoke this morning when all good things are born
a robin perched upon my sill to welcome in the morn
He was young a spry and fragile and sweetly did he sing
sweet thoughts of joy and happiness into my heart did spring
I smiled at the robin’s song then leaning from my bed
I gently closed the window and crushed his little head!
